Description

We’re looking for a talented Design-Build Manager to lead the design side of complex, high-visibility design-build construction projects—primarily for federal clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments and knows how to bridge the gap between technical design and real-world construction execution.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing A/E partners, managing design schedules, coordinating with internal teams and clients, and ensuring that all design deliverables meet technical, contractual, and constructability requirements. You’ll also play a key role in early project development—from concept design through proposal stages—shaping how we win and deliver impactful projects across the country and overseas.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate all aspects of the design process for design-build projects
• Manage architecture and engineering subcontractors across disciplines
• Develop, track, and maintain detailed design schedules
• Oversee phased design deliverables, construction documents, and contract compliance
• Collaborate with construction teams to integrate field-driven feedback into design decisions
• Coordinate permitting requirements and assist with preconstruction planning
• Represent the company in design reviews, client meetings, and proposal presentations
• Support proposal efforts by leading conceptual and preliminary design efforts
• Administer design-related contracts, manage changes, and mitigate design risks
• Foster productive working relationships with clients, A/E teams, and internal stakeholders
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of collaboration and excellence
What You Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering
• PE or RA license preferred
• 10+ years of experience in design and/or construction management
• Experience with federal and design-build projects is required
• Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
