Reshoring Expected to Boost Industrial Construction in 2015

A new report from construction research firm CMD brings good news for construction jobs.  The report expects starts of industrial construction projects to increase 7.8 percent this year. The reason? “It is due in large part to reshoring efforts by U.S. manufacturers,” writes digital reporter Andy Szal on Chem.info. He says CMD’s quarterly forecast indicates lower domestic energy prices and declining overseas competitive advantages. “This make the U.S. an attractive destination for high value-added manufacturing,” according to Szal’s post. Firms bringing jobs back to U.S. shores will spur increased demand for manufacturing space and lead to greater construction activity, he says.
