Booming Trend: Hiring in Oil and Gas

There’s an increasing demand for engineering talent in the oil and gas industries. During the past four years, the growing competition for engineers is attributed to “more drilling, and the greater use of technology to produce oil and gas.” A look at the past three months is impressive as well, reports WantedAnalytics.com. “When comparing the past 90 days to the same 90-day period last year, the number of job ads posted online in the U.S. grew 17 percent. Over the long term, the growth is even more apparent. Oil and gas demand increased 249 percent in the number of job ads listed in August 2009 as compared to August 2014.” Other ‘hot jobs’ in oil and gas are mechanical engineers, heavy machine operators, and geologists.
