Mr. Herndon’s experience serving as President and Vice president of these construction organizations provides him with unique knowledge of Client and Candidate needs and their specific requirements by understanding the construction positions from office staffing to on site.

Mr. Herndon has directly overseen the Development and Construction of hundreds of multi- family and commercial projects throughout the Southeast, Northeast and Midwest.

Mr. Herndon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida and has earned General Contractors Licenses in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Mr. Herndon has interviewed, hired and trained hundreds of professional construction individuals from Construction Administration, Project Coordinators, Project Engineers, Estimators, Superintendents, Project Managers and Vice Presidents. Mr. Herndon’s relationships and contacts throughout the industry help better serve the needs of the client and candidate.

Description

Seeking experienced Construction Project Manager in Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain a complete knowledge the market sectors and typical project profiles, including major subcontractors, pricing, and competitive advantages.
  • Achieve profitability goals on an annualized basis.
  • Manage individual major projects, and/or multiple small to mid-sized projects.
  • Act as single point of accountability on assigned projects and with key accounts. Take full ownership of the project as wells as the client relationship.
  • Create an empowered atmosphere of delegated responsibility and accountability. Maintain positive, productive relations with project team members, owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
  • Develop aggressive project schedules with overall development team.
  • Perform systematic and on-going budget development and value engineering.
  • Support the project with creative thinking and foresight.
  • Ensure through delegation and review that final closeout and transmission of documents to files and to the owner is properly completed.
  • Perform final review and audit of GMP subcontractor’s final cost reports and cost history, and ensure that final cost reports are accurate and provide meaningful cost history.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ project management experience in commercial construction as a general contractor. 10 years of total industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with monthly management reports
  • Proven track record of holding subcontractors accountable to established policies and procedures, quality standards, scheduling criteria, and scopes of work.
  • Local real estate knowledge as it relates to codes and the political environment.
  • Knowledge of and relationships with local trades that translate to our product types.
  • Knowledge of land development construction and operations.
  • Stable leadership capabilities with a desire to grow and manage a.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience in evaluating, hiring and leading teams.
  • Driven to find creative business solutions to obstacles where no typical answer exists.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to shepherd project/communities with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders.
