Robert Herndon as President is a 24 year Construction Executive professional and has worked for top Multi-Family and Commercial Developers as President, Vice President and Project Manager.

Mr. Herndon’s experience serving as President and Vice president of these construction organizations provides him with unique knowledge of Client and Candidate needs and their specific requirements by understanding the construction positions from office staffing to on site.

Mr. Herndon has directly overseen the Development and Construction of hundreds of multi- family and commercial projects throughout the Southeast, Northeast and Midwest.

Mr. Herndon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida and has earned General Contractors Licenses in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Mr. Herndon has interviewed, hired and trained hundreds of professional construction individuals from Construction Administration, Project Coordinators, Project Engineers, Estimators, Superintendents, Project Managers and Vice Presidents. Mr. Herndon’s relationships and contacts throughout the industry help better serve the needs of the client and candidate.

Description

Growing Residential Home Builder, in North Atlanta,  is seeking experienced Human Resources Manager to provide operational HR support.

Duties:

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares, maintains and communicates the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Administers the staff compensation program.
  • Along with our vendor-partners, performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, Open Enrollment and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files required Administrative reports as needed.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as necessary.
  • Maintains company organization charts, work assignments, Census, OT and Turnover Reports.
  • Together with Payroll, maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the President, on personnel matters.
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters

Qualifications:

  • BS in Human Resources, Org Development, Business Administration, or related field
  • 4-6 years directly-related experience
  • Construction experience highly desired
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with ability to handle multiple/competing priorities
  •  “Roll up your sleeves and execute” attitude
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Functional computer skills
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment

Salary:  $55,000 - $75,000 per year
