Florida Leads Nation in Construction Jobs

More than 40,000 new construction jobs were created in Florida in October, compared to October, 2013. Much of the 10.4 percent increase was concentrated in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties in the southern portion of the state. J. Antonio Villamil, an economist with The Washington Economics Group, says population growth, foreign investment, improved employment, and low-rate mortgages are contributing to more growth in residential construction. He adds, “We’re starting to attract younger millennials. Broward is having success in corporate headquarters. This all increases the demand for apartments and good housing,” according to a post on ENR.com.
