Governors Fail to Include Construction Sector in Job Training Discussions

Chairperson of the National Governor’s Association, Gov. Mary Fallin (R-Oklahoma) has promised to improve workforce development partnerships, with an emphasis on secondary school credentials. However, Mike Glavin, senior manager for workforce policy at Associated Builders and Contractors, writes that despite the nation’s growing shortage of skilled construction craft professionals, construction training doesn’t appear to be included in the initiative.
