Las Vegas Finally Seeing Rebound in Construction Work
It’s been a long time coming, but the construction industry is picking up nicely in Vegas. The area that was hit hard when the 2008 recession struck is now slowly inching its way back in the market. Eli Segall writes on VegasInc.com: “Developers are building or planning to construct apartment complexes, industrial properties, big-box retail and single-family homes around the 215 Beltway between Interstate 15 and Flamingo Road.” Swedish furniture retailer IKEA just announced it will be opening a store in Las Vegas. Today, 48,500 people work in construction locally, up 39 percent from the depths of the recession, reports Segall.
