OSHA’s ‘Safety Stand-Down’ Campaign Launches May 4

Some 3 million workers are expected to participate in the second annual “Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction” initiative. The outreach campaign organized by OSHA is set for May 4-15. Fatalities caused by falls are the leading cause of death of construction workers, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.  The voluntary education program is designed for organizations to talk directly to workers about safety. Anyone wanting to prevent falls in the workplace can benefit, says a post on MutualIndustries.com. This includes commercial and independent contractors, highway construction, military and other government participants and employers trade associations. The post offers eight tips for construction employers that want to participate.
