  1. Philly Building Collapse: Did Hiring Managers Play a Part in Contractor and Crew Hires?

A federal judge has ordered the site of this week’s deadly building collapse in Philadelphia be preserved as authorities investigate the qualifications of the crews and subcontractors. Some of this could tie back to hiring and construction managers. An article by the Associated Press states that investigators are probing a widespread lack of regulation at demolition projects across the city. Mongeluzzi maintains demolition contractor Griffin Campbell violated several federal safety regulations, while building owner Richard Basciano should have picked a more qualified and competent contractor to do the work.
