Texas, Florida, Nevada, Arizona and North Carolina are among the top states for future job growth, according to Forbes.com. The research is based on projected annual job expansion, median household income, and unemployment rates. Texas grabbed the No. 1 spot, with Houston being noted for its burgeoning oil and gas activities. Writer Kurt Badenhausen says that in the past 12 months, Texas has added 413,000 jobs. “One of the only things holding Texas back in our Best States ranking is the education rate of its labor supply. Only 82 percent of adults have a high school degree, second lowest among the 50 states,” he writes.
