Construction Employers Partnering with OSHA on Fall Safety Prevention Program
Thousands of construction companies are expected to take part in OSHA’s second annual “Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction” initiative. The outreach campaign is set for May 4-15, with OSHA hoping to reach some 3 million people working construction jobs. Fatalities caused by falls are the leading cause of death of construction workers. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration says this voluntary education program is designed for organizations to talk directly to workers about safety. Employers can also visit OSHA’s Events page to find free public events related to the stand-down in their area, according to Safety.BLR.com.
