New Survey: 51% of Employers Reject Candidates Based on Social Presence

Are construction hiring managers looking at the digital footprints of candidates?  A new survey from CareerBuilder reveals that 51 percent of employers have not hired an applicant after seeing their social media profiles and posts. Last year, 43 percent of businesses said they rejected potential hires because of social posts. And in 2012, only 34 percent of employers turned away applicants with questionable social activity. “Additionally, 12 percent of employers don’t currently research candidates on social media, but plan to start,” according to a press release from CareerBuilder.
